We are delighted to share an exciting milestone for Elements of Toronto — council approval has now been officially granted for our upcoming village expansion. This approval allows us to move forward with the development of 16 brand‑new units , first announced in August 2025, and marks a significant step towards enhancing our lakeside community.

‍Over recent months, our engineering and architectural teams have worked collaboratively to refine the plans to ensure the new extension meets all compliance requirements while delivering high‑quality, market‑ready homes. The updated design reflects the modern lifestyle expectations of today’s retirees, with features that prioritise comfort, accessibility, and connected community living.

2‑ and 3‑bedroom single‑level homes
Spacious, contemporary layouts with an accessibility‑focused design

Accreditation Achieved here at Elements of Toronto!

We are pleased to advise that Elements of Toronto has been awarded full accreditation against the Australian Retirement Village Accreditation Scheme (ARVAS) Standards.
Accreditation is valid for three years: 7 April 2022 - 7 April 2025.

Accreditation is independent recognition that an organisation, practice, service, program or activity meets the requirements of defined criteria or standards. Accreditation provides quality and performance assurance for owners, managers, staff, funding bodies and consumers.

This is a wonderful achievement for the Village.

Only three homes left to sell!

We have had such a successful two months with sales here at Elements of Toronto. We are nearly all sold out of homes. Leaving us only three homes to sell. All two bedroom, two bathroom single garage homes.

Coming out of the lifting of restrictions, our Village Manager needed more hours in the day. Completion is due for our Stage 5 North Facing homes on the 17 December which brings us more even Residents to fill our lovely Village.

Our full completion of the Village is expected March 2022.

Community Centre - Opening Soon

Residents have been looking forward to the arrive of their community centre with great anticipation.

There is a lot to look forward to at Elements of Toronto heading into summer.
The Community Centre will be a multipurpose centre, complete with a commercial kitchen ideal for family gatherings, games, classes and much more.
It has a beautiful outdoor deck with a built in BBQ coming! The deck overlooks a north facing view over landscaped gardens.
Residents have been looking forward to the arrive of their community centre with great anticipation.

Another popular feature will be the reading book filled with books donated by Residents. Some of our Residents have been writers and will be donating some of their own work.

Stage 4 and Community Centre Construction Update

How lucky are we to live in Lake Macquarie!

Our Stage 4 construction is due for completion in August along with our Community Centre. We cannot wait to show you!

The furniture has started to be delivered for our community centre with a mix of beautiful tones. As well as ordering a defibrillator to be installed.

We have four out of twelve homes still available with a mix of two and three bedroom North Facing homes.

We have been lucky to be able to continue construction during these hard times of COVID19.
Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and the Lower Hunter remain incredibly lucky - no community transmission for 340 days.
Our main priority is keeping our Village safe during these hard times.

Our Residents now have a lovely BBQ facility to enjoy!

Thank you to Mark and Bryson from Croudace Bay Building Services for bringing an idea to life. From a rough sketch to a beautiful BBQ area.
Our residents have a BBQ facility to enjoy with their friends and family or just amongst themselves.

Location for the BBQ area is perfect. Right next to the Bocce Court. Nothing like a game of Bocce & a BBQ.

What a wonderful start to our 2021 here at Elements!

Our Stage 3 development is now all SOLD. All 10 homes have been secured and the moving in process has started.

The first week back of 2021 seen lots of potential Residents out and about. It is lovely to see things starting to get back to normal while still being COVID safe.

This now leaves our Stage 4 development on the market with off the plan sales available. A mixture of two and three bedroom designs available.

Stage 3 - is now ready for move in

Last month seen our 10 new homes finalised and ready for move in as apart of our Stage 3 development here at Elements of Toronto.
Our Toronto Golf Club staff completed the landscaping which we think looks absolutely fabulous and can not thank them enough for. .
The Residents in Stage 3 have now completed their first month in their new homes and so far, no complaints - which is always nice!
We have furnished Unit 28 (still available to purchase). Mode Styling was hired to complete a full furnish to show what a completed home could look like. As we know from our own personal experiences, looking into a blank home can be hard to picture what you will put where.
Feel free to pop in and see us in the Toronto Workers Club Reception to take a walk through Unit 28 and also our 5 available homes.

New benches installed to provide a peaceful and healthy spot.

Our new benches offer not just a nice place to sit.

Did you know that sitting under a tree according to health experts provides us with a boost to our well-being? Many studies have been carried out to examine how spending time outdoors has an overall positive effect on our health and well-being.

The recent installation of our beautiful benches positioned directly under large canopy trees have been designed to inspire our residents to spend time outdoors. Our research led to some interesting facts about time outdoors. When we spend time sitting under a tree we breathe in the chemicals trees release that can boost our immune system. These special naturally occurring chemicals boost the body’s production of a specific white blood cell that helps fight off viruses. Tree gazing also lowers blood pressure and can boost our moods.

As our community garden is at last finished and our new benches installed we hope these outdoor facilities will inspire our residents to enjoy the benefits of time outside with nature.

Social distancing can be difficult

One of our favourite activities at Elements is to enjoy a coffee from the Indulge Café at Toronto Workers Club with one of the house made goodies. In late February the in house pastry chef made special “Elements” cookies for staff and residents to enjoy. Our Village Manager Jenna sat down with our Ambassador Mike Rabbitt to discuss the newly opened Stage 2 and enjoyed a cuppa and a cookie. At the moment café staff are staying home and staying safe. Jenna is still working to keep Elements running making changes to the way she operates to work in with social distancing and keeping herself and residents safe. Connecting over the phone, via email and through zoom conferencing is something we are all learning to accept. But nothing compares to the face to face connection we take for granted. Elements remains open for sales enquiries and to take care of our incoming residents and our residents but we look forward to resuming our coffee and cake soon. Our residents receive a free coffee and cake from the café on their birthday and we hope to have one big birthday celebration with everyone as soon as the doors reopen.

COVID - 19 is not stopping progress

Although Elements of Toronto has needed to make a few small changes to our selling routine our construction continues without delay. If you are interested in visiting Elements unfortunately our physical office is currently closed to keep our residents safe. But we are still open for business and can communicate via phone, email or zoom conferencing. One on one appointments adhering to social distancing are available but we do discourage these as we want to ensure your health and wellbeing.

The weather has cooperated to allow for frames to go up and insulation is being installed this week. The Elements team enjoys the construction process as every day we see dreams become reality. Our Village Manager has been working with incoming stage 3 residents to assist them in making selections and tweaking a few parts of their homes to suit their individual needs. Kitchen colours and blinds have been finalised this week and each is unique and beautiful. We will continue to update our website and Facebook page with pictures so do follow us.

2020 is starting off well

What’s ahead in 2020 for the development of Elements and property in general.

The builders have now returned back to site after their Christmas break. It is exciting to see another stage of the village underway. Stage 3 remains on track for a mid-year move in. As with our previous stages we will be posting updates and photos on a regularly. Stage 4 final plans and pricing will hopefully be completed in the very near future and we will be opening up for sales as soon as these are on hand. Notification will be sent out for this as soon as possible so keep your eyes out.

Nationwide property prizes are likely to continue to rise throughout 2020. This is good news for those who are selling and great news for those wanting to downsize. All the top research sites are predicting nice numbers. CoreLogic reports Sydney will rise by 7.7% in 2020 and a further 7.6% by 2021. Nationally an average increase of 5.4% which is much more promising from the -7 of 2019. SQM along with others backs this up with a prediction of 7% to 11% increases equalling a nice bounce back.

Stage 2 are moving in just in time for Santa

A busy and exciting time for stage 2 residents

As we race towards Christmas Day our stage 2 residents have been busy moving in. The introduction of new residents and the opening of the roadway along stage 2 has enhanced our village. It has certainly been a rewarding and exciting time for everyone involved. The Elements office will be open throughout the Christmas season with the only exception being Christmas Day when our Village Manager will be enjoying a rare day off. Our residents know someone is at hand should they need any assistance and have the reassurance of their vitalcall in the event of an emergency. The stage 2 finished homes are beautiful and just like our stage 1 homes are receiving many compliments on the sizes and layout. The high ceilings and windows offering the cross breeze are a favourite feature as is the bushland setting which give all residences the opportunity to enjoy the well-established treetops.

Our stage 2 properties are only days away from completion. We are very excited to reveal the finished homes to their new owners next week as they gather together for their first peak at the final outcome. Shortly after these are enjoyed by their owners, we will post some images through our digital platforms including right here on our website. Every home is unique in some way due to the small personal touches that have been chosen. Stage 1 residents are looking forward to welcoming new neighbours. The village will be buzzing with activity in the lead up to Christmas.

This is a mix of information about the residents of Elements, what might be happening in and around Toronto along with the recipe of the month, puzzles and updates. Kitchens, fences and more

This week has started off with beautiful blue skies at Elements accompanied by the installation of beautiful kitchens. The stage 2 site is buzzing with activity as externally bricklayers continue on the front fences and much work is carried out on the internal fit out. Units 13 and 14 enjoyed a visit from their new owners who left very excited and a little nervous about the fast approaching move in date.

It is important when running a registered retirement village that you constantly review, understand and adhere to the guidelines set out in the Retirement Villages Act 1999 (NSW) and the Retirement Villages Regulation 2017 (NSW). As part of our commitment to our residents it was important, we held our first management meeting with our new stage 1 residents. It gave management an opportunity to present the financial budget and openly discuss the day to day running of the village with residents. On Wednesday of last week we enjoyed a round table discussion that reinforced what special people call Elements home and what an enjoyable working relationship we all share. After the meeting we all enjoyed lunch together at Indulge , another benefit to living so close to Toronto Workers Club where beautiful food is readily available.

A winter warming lunch to mark the end of winter

Our August residents get together consisted of soup and dessert to mark the end of Winter. Thank you to Dean for cooking a beautiful, warm and filling pumpkin soup and for the delicious hummingbird cake dessert. Every month we plan activities that give residents an opportunity to get to know their neighbours a little better. This was a significant day for our Stage 2 incoming residents who had the opportunity to take their first walk through what will be their new street.

Music, lunch and good company

Our first residents move in.

Today Elements handed over the keys to our very first residents. It is with much excitement they commence moving into their new home. In the coming weeks all of our Stage 1 residents will settle on their properties and move in. It has been a long time in the making but Elements is already proving to be a special place. A big welcome to our very first residents and best wishes for many happy days ahead.

An update on Elements and the coming month ahead

Stage 1 is all but complete with kitchens, bathrooms, carpet and timber flooring now installed and we are delighted with how fantastic they look and the functionality, light and space of the homes.

In late March and early April, Christine from Hunter Valley Blinds scheduled appointments where she took time with each purchaser to showcase the selection of blinds available. A range of combinations were chosen to align with the individual tastes.

The sales office has undergone a small facelift with new kitchen cupboards installed to reflect the choices available, new timber flooring to match what will be installed in the homes and a new carpet sample to again showcase the beautiful wool carpet for the bedroom areas. Examples of the blind selections are coming in early May. In the early part of May we will add updated photography and sample boards once the Stage 1 homes are completed.

Stage 1 of the development is ahead of schedule and therefore the homes will be occupied as of 1 June as planned. This also means Stage 2 is underway and very soon you will see frames starting to go up. Be sure to check back into our news page where we will update information and images as they become available.

Stage 1 purchasers will in the near future take their first walk through their new homes. We have also organised for professional video footage to be taken that we will put on our website. We are grateful to Nulex builders for allow access for this to occur.

Appointments will soon be made with our Stage 2 purchasers to make their kitchen selections and meet with Hunter Valley Blinds to discuss window coverings.

We are planning an Elements community get together and anticipate this will take place in mid-June in the form of a lunch or early dinner. Our last one was a successful morning tea where incoming residents had the chance to meet and get to know their soon to be new neighbours.

For the Elements team the opportunity to be onsite and see each step take shape is exciting. The outcome is wonderful and as a team we are sure everyone will be delighted with the finished product.

Internal fitout takes off

Bathroom week at Elements as the tiling is laid. Both the ensuite and the main bathroom of the first units have floor tiles with wall tiles soon to follow. Stage 1 residents are finalising their additional electrical requests and selecting their kitchen colour schemes.

The Board of Directors are scheduled to enjoy their walk through the constructions before the end of the week. The anticipation is high as this long-awaited project is now definitely a reality.

Incoming Residents Meet for the First Time

On Friday 18 January 2019 Toronto Workers Club facilitated a special morning tea for the incoming Elements residents.

It was exciting for both the residents who will be moving into their beautiful new homes throughout 2019 and the operators of Elements to come together. New friendships were forming as neighbours started introducing themselves and attendees cheerfully learnt who was who and which homes they had each chosen to purchase.

Moving into a completely new retirement development can be daunting as you commit to something unseen. Mark Singleton CEO reiterated his determination to ensure everyone who moves into Elements is happy with their choice and emphasised the commitment Toronto Workers Club has to the project. Incoming residents witnessed first-hand how excited members of the Elements team are and joined with them to celebrate this first get together.

Stage one is now taking shape as the journey into our new retirement village speeds ahead.

Frames have now been built on the first homes in stage 1. These homes are all three bedroom with large automatic garages and generous outdoor terraces. Seeing construction underway has emphasised the substantial size of these homes and generated a lot of interest and excitement from the Toronto Workers Club community.
